Picture
A compass for caregivers, therapists, and teachers, to provide autistic-centering support to autistic kids left out of most ND-affirming conversations (non-speakers, people with intellectual or multiple developmental disabilities, etc).

Created by autistic advocates, non-speakers, caregivers, and therapists, we combine years and in some cases lifetime of experiences to go beyond the surface and offer nuance, depth and complexity.  We have no answers (only your kid does), but we offer direction and experience.

Gestalt Language Processing

Picture
Gestalt Language Processing is how some people, including many autistic folks, process language. We offer a non-oralist definition and resources - including echolalia outside of GLP. This was critical in supporting our kids, but it took us a long time to sort through all the material to find what works (and doesn't!) for our kids.

Movement and Sensory

Apraxia, dyspraxia, sensory integration!  What is it all, and why do the social media memes never seem to fit our kids?

Literacy

Picture
Hyperlexic or not, how do we teach literacy to those with a variety of differences in communication?

In progress.

AAC

AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) can be high-tech, low-tech, gestures, and incredibly creative!  What happens when you do everything right, but your kid doesn't take to that speech generating device?  We share our experiences in embracing the vastness of what AAC can be.

Learning

Here we share learning frameworks that have been helpful to us as we support our kids, with a strong emphasis on self-directed learning since we find most of our kids are self directed learners!

Mathematics

Numeracy, patterns, advanced math, are all as critical as literacy!  What are resources we've found to help us teach those skills?
